Elliot J. Scott, MD
About
I am a general surgeon and an endocrine surgeon. I’ve had the privilege to train at some of the best medical centers in the United States – from New Orleans to Seattle to New York City. I learned cutting edge techniques – that were once only found in big city hospitals – with the commitment to bringing those back home to south Louisiana. I want my patients to have the safest, least invasive surgery available anywhere in the country, without the burden of extensive travel.
Bio
I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in Abbeville, where I learned to hunt and fish, and worked every summer on a farm. With an enormously supportive family and community at my back, I was the first in my family to go to college, and eventually made my way to medical school at LSU in New Orleans. From there, I did general surgery training in Seattle, Washington at Virginia Mason Medical Center and a fellowship in endocrine, metabolic, and minimally invasive surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. It is such an honor to be able to come back to Louisiana and take care of patients in my home state with the skills I’ve learned from amazing mentors and teachers all over the country.
